Jo-Hendrik Hamann (born 1986, Vorwerk) lives and works in Hamburg and Halle (Saale). In his interdisciplinary practice,
he explores spatial constructions and socioeconomic dynamics at the intersection of empirical research and theoretical reflection.
Using images, moving images, sculpture, and installation, he questions patterns of perception and social coding.
He has been studying time-based arts at Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design Halle with Prof. Michaela Schweiger.
His practice has been expanded through guest semesters in expanded cinema with Clemens von Wedemeyer (HGB Leipzig)
Materiality and space with Prof. Karsten Födinger (Burg Giebichenstein) and Sculpture in the class of Jason Dodge (HFBK Hamburg)
Since 2009, he has been working as a freelance artist, graphic designer, photographer, videographer, and producer for cultural projects and events.
