Memory and space are not two separate things. They permeate one another. Each shapes the other, and both shape us. In my work, I examine this mutual permeation: how moving through spaces leaves traces, how memory makes spaces habitable or unbearable,
and how identity reconfigures itself continuously in this permanent in-between. I work with installation, sculpture, photography, video, sound and language.
My source material is the everyday. Thought and objects someone has forgotten or left behind, things that wait. I am not drawn to the spectacular,
but to the moment just before or just after: the silence between two actions, the space between arrival and departure.
In my diploma work „nothing has been decided yet", objects gather that all carry the same condition: the in-between.
A room that appears ordered, yet inhabited or just abandoned. Objects that do not explain what they are doing here.
The work does not ask what was. It holds open what is still to come.
"I collect observations the way others collect things. Not to possess them, but because I believe the most precise thing I can say
about identity lies in what someone leaves behind when they go, leaves behind when they stay."
I leave gaps. Not out of restraint, but because I believe meaning also belongs to the viewer,
to what they bring with them: a memory, a sense of loss, a familiarity. My work does not pose questions I intend to answer.
It holds the condition of the question open.
